Brown Puppy is approximately 40lbs and she is currently 18 months old. She is a German Shepherd mix breed. She does great in the car and on a leash. She is not 100% house or crate-trained but progress is coming right along. She is a dog within our community that we are working to find a good home for. She currently resides outside. As it gets colder, we are working even harder to help get this girl into a warm and loving home.
When inside, she will go into the crate willingly and does settle after a few minutes of whining. She does well with consistent trips outside to potty but will have an accident now and then without reminder trips outside. She still has fun, puppy energy but also loves to cuddle and spend time getting attention.

Shadow is a very special mini-Aussie that has been through quite a bit of trauma in her young life.
At the age of 18 months, Shadow's owner had fed her to the point that she was so obese she could not walk. Due to all the weight she was carrying around, both of her rear knees ruptured. She was sent to her vet to be euthanized.
The vet refused to euthanize this girl and reached out for help from a local rescue. This is where we stepped in. Shadow went to a foster home that was equipped to handle her special needs. She spent months walking with a special harness. Her foster mom had to hold her up so that she could potty and then she had to go right back to laying down. She just couldn't handle the weight on her legs.
Shadow spent months in swim therapy and on a strict diet that helped her lose enough weight for her to become mobile again and to be able to withstand knee surgery. She had her first knee surgery at the end of August and went back to her foster home to recover. Her second knee surgery was completed at the first of December, 2021. She is now "good as new".
Shadow is house and crate trained. However, Shadow is a spunky little girl that will need a special home. She cannot be in a home with small children, as she likes to herd them and nip their heels. Although she currently resides with two children, she is with a foster mommy that understands herding behaviors and has adapted her surroundings for Shadow. She also has some issues with food aggression and resource guarding her toys and belongings. She has responded well to the training and work that her foster mom has done with her but needs an adopter that is willing to continue the routine and setup that she currently has in place. She does better with one "boss" and really pours all of her loyalty into her "one special person".
She resides with a foster dog sister. She also spends time with 4-5 other dogs when she goes to the doggy sitters. She does not bond with other dogs or spend time with them but also doesn't bother them. Her goal is mostly to ignore other dogs and pretend she is an only dog.
If you think you might be the right home for this special girl, send us a message.

Weighing in at 30lb, Rambo is a 3.5 year old mix breed. He came from a feral colony and has been in foster care, learning how to be the bestest boy, for 2 years now.
He's house and crate trained. He's a medium energy dog and allergies that are controlled with diet and meds. He loved other dogs and does best when he's with another dog and not the only dog in a home.
Rambo does require a fenced in yard that isn't easy to escape. He also would benefit from the fence being attached to the house so he can just go right out the door, into the fence.
If you think you could provide a great home for Rambo, you can download an adoption app from the "Forms" tab. Completed applications can be submitted to mayberry4paws@gmail.com

Willow is a husky mix that is estimated to be about 5 years old. This girl is every human's dream! She had a rough start to life and came to rescue after being removed from her home due to cruelty charges against the owner. She came to us with some really bad skin issues and in need of some weight gain. Her skin is so much better now but she does need regular bathing. She doesn't love her baths but will comprise if you use a warm washcloth to soap her and let her soak outside of the tub. Then put her in the tub
She loves to be outside on sunny days. She likes sleeping on the couch, in front of a sunny window. She loves soft and fuzzy blankets because of her skin issues. Sto rinse. It’s much easier for her to handle. She’s very sweet and enjoys the other dogs. She’s not scared of cats but doesn’t spend a ton of time with my cats but I think that’s more on the cats and not on Willow. She’s crate trained and is potty trained. She has accidents on occasion but it’s not very often. She’s not very interested in playing fetch or playing with toys but will join in on occasion. She loves car rides and going out in public. I take her shopping and out for treats every weekend. She walks well on a leash and is polite to strangers. She’s shy but comes out of her shell quickly when she likes you. She’s very loyal and will follow her favorite human around the house. When she’s alone she hangs out with the other dogs. She’s never chewed or destroyed anything in the house. She’s an absolute love bug and will make someone a very special companion.
SPECIAL NEEDS: Willow has an auto-immune disease. This means that she needs bathing in a special skin care product 3x a week to help with her itchy skin. She is also on oral medication daily and prescription food. Her medicine is $45.60 per month. Her prescription food is $126 for a 25lb bag of food.

Meet Tuck. In true heeler form, Tuck is a herder. He would do best in a home that has a true understanding of what that means. As the name suggests, herding breeds were developed to gather, herd, and protect livestock such as sheep or cattle. That genetic makeup and heritage means they all have the instinctive skill and drive to control the movement of other animals. To a herding dog, however, “other animals” means the humans in the house, too.
Tuck loves his humans and other dogs. But that also means that the dogs, people, or just anyone he hangs with has to "get his style". He loves everyone, but sometimes they’re like “man, get out of my space.”
Sadly, Tuck was with us a while back. He was adopted and that was a very dark spot in his life as he was not treated properly and was reclaimed by our rescue.
He came back to us very scared and skinny. We have since gave him all the food and love and security that he needed to get back to his normal self.
He’s been bounced around a lot since coming into rescue and he’s really love a place to land where he’s appreciated in all his wide-open glory. He loves to play with other dogs and his best buddy just left for a home so he’s really feeling lonely. He needs lots of exercise and would do great with another dog who also loves big games. He is crate-trained, house-trained, knows basic commands and just needs to be reminded a few times of the rules of a house and he's got i. He loves treats and being with his person and that means he is super willing to please, as well.
If you think you could provide a good home for Tuck, grab an adoption application from the forms tab of our website for an application. Completed applications can be submitted to mayberry4paws@gmail.com

Boss is a 14 month old "pit-mix". He is house trained and crate trained and rides ok in the car. He has been with other dogs throughout his entire life and gets along great with them all. In fact, he is more submissive and lets other "bossy" dogs be in charge.
Boss is gentle and friendly. He is a little shy around people until he has been around them for a minute and then he warms up quickly. He was the leader of the litter when he was born. He is great with kids and other dogs.
He is a medium energy pup that loves playing with friends to taking a walk but is equally content to just hang out with his person all day. If you think you can give Boss an amazing home, download an application from the forms tab of the Mayberry4Paws.com website and send your completed app to mayberry4paws@gmail.com

River is estimated to be between 4 and 5 years old. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier and has had DNA testing done. She comes with a lot of personality and love to give. She is house and crate trained. She is a medium energy dog who loves to take walks, play with friends, and toys but is also happy to spend all day binging Netflix with her human.
River is a big, friendly girl who gives the best kisses (assuming you like sloppy kisses and who doesn’t? She wound up at the animal shelter through no fault of her own and has been with rescue for a year now! During her rescue time, she’s been a terrific hit at Mardi Growl and two adoption events where she soaked up lots of attention but didn’t find a home. She’s made lots of doggy friends in her foster home and watched them move on without her. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines and is currently taking heartworm, flea and tick preventative medication. She has never met a stranger and likes most dogs. In doggy play, she enjoys wild games and would do great with a canine sibling of similar size and energy. She also enjoys a good snuggle after her romps so be ready. She is a bossy dog so she would do best with submissive dogs or smaller dogs.
If you would like to apply to adopt River, please hop on over to the "Adopt from M4P" tab on our website and grab an adoption application. Our web address is www.mayberry4paws.com . Completed applications can be submitted to dunlapjbr@gmail.com
